Xbox 360 controller malfunctioning windows 10 need help

Hello everyone,

Recently I've bought a wireless xbox 360 controller with a receiver for $20. I got home home excited to start playing Mortal Kombat after everything was setup, I then ran the game but when I press the "X" button on the controller the game shows me that I've pressed the "Y" button and when I press the "B" button it shows that I've pressed the "A" button. This is as confusing as it sounds :(

pressed buttons on controller on the left and what appears on the screen on the right

Y - X

B - A

A - B

X - Y

After some time spent on google (one week) I decided to give 360ce a try it did not work the buttons are all still messed up.

For 20 bucks it sounds you got a non original Xbox Controller....

I have vast experience in these Xbox 360 controllers to use on PC. I have a total of 5 and all of them malfunctioning. Batteries stopped working, buttons stopped working, analog sticks registering inputs when centered, etc....

The Xbox controllers are really badly built.

At the moment I have an Xbox One Controller, but, the wireless connection is dropping all the time. I now use it with the cable.

Oh yes it is non original lol and the place where I bought it insists that it is so this one has no sync button for the wireless ?. I've managed to fix it though ran x360ce and turns out I'm an idiot :( since it's my first time with a controller I did not know there are actually two modes for this one! That was causing it to conflict big time it would randomly switch modes and then everything would go haywire. Lesson learned! Got an xbox one controller wired no problems at all games run perfect no lag and it's original considering it was bought from a reputable place this time.
