Hi,

Right now I have a Macbook Pro 13" 2017 i7 2.5 GHz (dual-core), I would like to know if a 2019 model with an i7 with 1.7 GHz (this is quad-core) will give me significant boost of performance or not. The processor base frequency of the 2019 model is lower than the 2017 but, 2019 is quad-core.

I'm a software programmer.

Any advice?

If you game on it it will give somewhat of a boost since games usually use more than 2 cores, but if you dont game, that upgrade will make thing worse. Same with editing the quad core is better.

I Use my knowledge as business owner and self taught technician aswell as an AI to help people. AI might be controversial but it actually works pretty well 90% of the time.

Are you satisfied with current perfomance? if yes, than don't upgrade, save those money on something more practical.

Purify your Windows 10/11, don't give Microsoft anything that you don't want to share.
