1070ti beaten by 1060 with less ram and worse cpu??

Morning/Afternoon

I sold a home build PC recently that had the following spec:

i5 6500 3.2ghz

16gb DDR4 2400 RAM

Gigabyte GTX 1070ti GPU

Apparently the buyer is saying that they are getting better FPS on a i5 2400 with 14gb DDR3 and GTX 1060...

When sold the machine was in fine condition and was very lightly used (no mining, no overclocking etc)

Thoughts??

TIA

Dan

Unless you signed a contract with them stating that you would provide after sales support and provide warranty, it's not your problem. Their PC, their problem.

Hello,

They plugged the monitor to the motherboard and not the GPU would be my guess.

Seems unlikely - tell him to uninstall drivers using DDU in safe mode (optional: set this in DDU) - disable windows automatic driver installation and reinstall graphics drivers.

Probably just using different game settings - like by Geforce Experience changing the game settings to better reflect the improved GPU power.

but two different machines - mine would have probably needed a driver update but still pretty up to date?

Oh, it's two different machines.

Well in that case the Geforce Experience changing settings (or the user just choosing different settings) could still be the case.
