Hi,

So I've just finish my first build and when i touched the case even when turn off i get some light electric shock. Through research i find out that our home and socket doesn't have proper grounding (the same as 99,9% household in this country) and i I really want to know is there any damage i can do to the hardware by not grounding my PSU and case? Someone told me that i just need to wear extra thick slippers to prevent shocking and that's it.

It's more of a safety hazard than anything else as it may build up enough of a charge or short to the case and give a shock that is at full live voltage. If you can get a ground line in place that would be best or to have it routed to a ground rod.

It sounds like your house needs some extensive electrical work by a professional.  Not really anything you can do, unless you want to wrap a wire around the ground pin on your power cable and go bury it in the yard yourself lol

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

Can I just hammer a nail into the wall and wired it to a screw that connected my PSU/Case? To be honest i don't know anything about this whole grounding business. And my main concern is that can this light shocking cause any problem to my hardware?

To be honest I'm not entirely sure what you'd need to connect to for proper grounding since any time I've needed it, I can use the screws on a light switch, or the ground hole on the outlet, etc. because the house is wired correctly, but my gut tells me just randomly sticking a wire into drywall is not going to do it.

As for the potential for damage, I wouldn't expect it, but I can't rule anything out.  Any product with a ground connection assumes that it will be used and it should not be used without it.  The main concern is that the product may be dangerous to people without proper grounding, but it is not likely going to damage itself.
