Can you use external graphics amplifier on the alienware alpha

What I have is I believe one of the first series or models on the alienware alpha console. Model d07u001.  I upgraded the ram to 16 gigs from the original 4. I am interested in if the alienware graphics amplifier will work and what mods if any need to be made for this to work. I have the original i3 which I am also insterested in comments on good upgrades for this also. I would love to play some vr games. I also have windows 10 installed and got rid of the steam operating system.

It's a dual core 4th Gen i3, with DDR3 Ram and no thunderbolt, an external GPU wouldn't even work on it let alone be worth it to add one to it.

Ahh thought it said it was a U not a T, completely spaced the 4h Gen "mobile" processors where just low power desktop CPUs.

Would it make much of a difference to upgrade to the i5. I really like the my old pc but it can not pass either VR test. Gpu and CPU fail. I paid like 400 or less new per my walmart had it on close out like 3 or 4 years ago.

I’m pretty sure the alienware graphics amplifier is proprietary to their laptops, it doesn’t work on other products.

Might be worth upgrading to something like an i5 4460S. The i7’s wouldn’t be paired well with what’s basically a GTX 750 in there and the low wattage ones are much more expensive.

And you have to use S or T processors, this this wasn’t designed to handle 84w quadcores.

It’s not mobile, it’s LGA 1150 in there.

And I couldnt find it now but I believed I seen a video on you tube where a guy solders in a adapter like on their laptops and gets it to work. Didnt know if their are any mods to make it work like on their laptops

Thanks. I'm a hvac technician and obviously no whiz on building a computer. I would love to play triple a vr titles without breaking the pocket book.   Any suggestions on good vr laptops on the lower price end?? Would be much appreciated.
