Depends. Is the 1070 new? Do you care about ray tracing? Do you want the extra 2 gigs of vram? Do you really wanna save £20? Though the 2060 will perform slightly better I kinda like 8gb of vram vs the 6, but then again its only a £20 price premium for ray tracing so its really up to you.

If it were me I'd just go 2060. No sense getting a 3.5 year old card that'll lose proper driver support in the next couple years when you can get a one year old card that performs just as well for only 8% more money. I don't know seems like a no brainer to me.

the 1070 has 8gb vram 2 more than the 2060. BUT.. the rtx 2060 has gddr6 memory. and is faster.
But.. 400 pound for a regular 2060? really?

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-geforce-rtx-2060-super-gaming-x-8192mb-gddr6-pci-express-graphics-card-gx-35h-ms.html

get something like that instead. if you want to buy a 2060 at 400. at least get the super which has 8gb as well.

Have the prices of the RX 5700 come down to that range yet? It beats out the 2060 Super for performance.

He didn't say the Super in the part I quoted, he said the 2060. Different card, different performance, different price bracket. Also, it does in many situations (like gaming with a mild overclock/undervolt, like it's designed) beat the Super for performance, and it most definitely does beat the price to performance by a LONG ways.

That is putting the super aginst the non xt 5700 which yes it does come in close with but at MSRP its closer to price with the XT which handily beats the 2060 super in just about everything and ray tracing on the 2060 is about useless anyway because the card just doesn't have the power to run it...

HE said 5700 not 5700xt. HE said the 5700 Is better than the 2060 super. Which is not true. Maybe in price. but not performance.

so yes i shared that to proof that he is wrong.

I would strongly advise not to buy a 6GB card at this point.

Unless you don't care about future proving at all and are ok with playing at low settings, it would be a really short sighted decision.
