Im not sure what the nits of brightness is on that AOC you saw.  I do know my POS monitor as I wait for the new LG is 350 nits but few zones.  If you want brighter then the Samsung QLED pownz when it comes to nits of brightness on their monitors and QLED helps in that cause as well.  You want bright and no need for IPS as viewing angles don't bother you then grab the Samsung 32" Curved QLED Gaming monitor and you will be happy with the QLED and the brightness level you get.  I think eventually Samsung will introduce 1400nits to the monitor world, but for now only TV's go 1000nits and higher except there are few monitors that are 1000nits that being Samsungs own CHG90 and CRG9.  The 300 dollar price tag is just a bit low for the 32" sweet spot Samsung panel Im talking to you about.  If you can add about another hundred or hundred fifty bones you can buy the Sammy.  You seem hell bent on VA which tells me your a gamer and do little producing stuff on the side.  For that the VA is good.  Also GTG and ms times on most IPS is 5ms.  I know in eSports they use TN or VA.  The the new LG Ultra Gear gives you 1ms IPS so that will soon be the standard for gamers wanting the color of IPS and no stupid angles and reds or blues or any color showing different on the top then on the bottom and sides.

Asus Sabertooth x79 / 4930k @ 4500 @ 1.408v / Gigabyte WF 2080 RTX / Corsair VG 64GB @ 1866 & AX1600i & H115i Pro @ 2x Noctua NF-A14 / Carbide 330r Blackout

Scarlett 2i2 Audio Interface / KRK Rokits 10" / Sennheiser HD 650 / Logitech G Pro Wireless Mouse & G915 Linear & G935 & C920 / SL 88 Grand / Cakewalk / NF-A14 Int P12 Ex
AOC 40" 4k Curved / LG 55" OLED C9 120hz / LaCie Porsche Design 2TB & 500GB / Samsung 950 Pro 500GB / 850 Pro 500GB / Crucial m4 500GB / Asus M.2 Card

I watched this one

i dont want/need 32" monitor and im going for VA because im mostly gaming and watching shows etc and im tired of my entry level IPS with horrible contrast and IPS bleed, it makes watching shows impossible (pic below)

Also im looking monitors like in that video but just with better contrast

Ok we can get you the sweet spot 27".  But what are your needs.  Like are you ditching IPS and going for VA ?  If so there are many great priced choices you can make.  Also what resolution do you need the monitor to be ?  You mght want 4k but game at 2k.  Or get a 2k for desktop and gaming ?  Darn that IPS glow is insane .. wtf...... That is way annoying especially when watching videos and movies like you said.  I still urge you to stay IPS but if you wanna sway away expect viewing angles and that simply sux.  On one corner say a red is less bright then the other side.  Or top and bottom.  Even if your sitting perfectly in front of it.  Seems like you want a nice gaming monitor with the lag IPS brings except for the LG UltraGear which is Nano IPS 1ms.  Your IPS is probably 5ms GtG and what not.  Im assuming right now you want a gaming monitor cuz there is a flood of them at the 27" range.  Just tell me what resolution you want, as that is important.  You might need just 1080p or want 4k for desktop and 2k for gaming as gaming in 4k is no reality yet.  You will get the 144hz and 1ms the VA has to offer.  I recommend this monitor right here.  Acer 27" Curved 1ms 144hz 1080p

Asus Sabertooth x79 / 4930k @ 4500 @ 1.408v / Gigabyte WF 2080 RTX / Corsair VG 64GB @ 1866 & AX1600i & H115i Pro @ 2x Noctua NF-A14 / Carbide 330r Blackout

Im ditching IPS and going for VA also my monitor is very low end so 5ms gtg is expected. I dont really care is color are little bit of, i just want deep blacks, good contrast and freesync with LFC aka g-sync compatible

I can go with 1080p 27" or 1440p 24-27" but id prefer 1080p 24" because my games run better on 1080p and pixel density on 1080p 27" isnt good
