9900k + Z390 Aorus Ultra high temps (80-87) when gaming?

Just bought a pre built PC as I know nothing about building PC's, it has a I9 9900K, Gigabyte z390 Aorus Ultra mobo and a H150i Pro AIO.

I noticed the CPU temps were hitting 80-87 degrees after about 3 hours of playing Modern Warfare 2019. is that high? to me it seems a little high.

Idle temps seem fine at around 35-40 degrees which is what my old PC sat at idle (i7 4790K, also i live in Australia so ambient cpu/room temp is a little higher than usual) and the AIO fans are at 100%

I HAVE NOT OC'D THE CPU. everything is default except XMP to get 3600mhz RAM which was done by the place I got the PC from.

 

only thing I seem to find online about this pairing of board and CPU with high temps is that the default settings push voltage a bit too extreme.

Would love to hear from the experience fol out there or people with this board.

have you tried to reinstall the aio? I mean.....seeing you are using a i9 9900K from a prebuilt system i assume budget is no concern to you.

 

might as well go all out and liquid metal that shit yo!

probably too much voltage by default, i'd set a manual voltage.

I’d say that’s kinda high, for gaming temps. Try to remount your AIO or get yourself some thermal paste and re-paste the cpu to see if that is the issue.
