Nebula Cosmos Max : World's 1st 4K Home Cinema with 3D Audio

Last year, Anker hit Kickstarter with a cylindrical 720p portable projector called the Capsule, and has now returned to the crowdfunding platform with a new Nebula projection system called the Cosmos. Well, actually there are two projectors being offered – a Full HD model with a pair of speakers and a 4K UHD unit packing four speakers for the promise of 3D audio.

The headline-grabber here is the Nebula Cosmos 4K Max TI DLP projector, which measures 13.8 x 9.8 x 3.9 in (35 x 25 x 10 cm) and tips the scales at 6.6 lb (3 kg). It puts out 1,500 ANSI lumens, can throw at up to 150 diagonal inches at 3,840 x 2,160p, rocks HDR10 for color vibrancy and boasts dynamic contrast of 100,000:1.

It comes with Android 9 computing cooked-in, with Amlogic T962X2 processor brains supported by 16 GB of onboard storage and 2 GB of RAM. The projector can be controlled using a supplied remote or via an iOS/Android companion app. As well as 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0, users can load in content from a USB thumbdrive or over HDMI. And it supports casting content from a mobile device.

The 11.4 x 7.8 x 3.6-in, 3.3-lb Cosmos 1080p version is similar to the 4K Max, but throws a Full HD image, puts out 900 ANSI lumens, rocks two 10-W speakers and comes with 8 GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM.

I think this device here is going to be hella expensive. Probably going to cost at least an arm to afford it. The specs sound good to me, and I would like to have one so I can watch Hentai and movie on 4k uhd projector with amazing 3d audio. HELL YEAH, BLAST THOSE VOLUME ALL THE UP!

3d audio

If you read the article, it says "Dolby Digital Plus", ie. EAC3, which is just regular surround sound. Calling it "3D audio" is just marketing, nothing more.

And? It's still marketing. Hell, look through the Youtube-video; there's a blowup-animation of the thing and you can clearly see the speakers built into the device, so you literally CANNOT get real 3D-audio on that thing. If you want proper 3D-audio, buy something that supports Dolby Atmos.

rocks two 10-W speakers

So, TWO 10 watt speakers, and the minimum for atmos is 5.1.2...... mkay, this is marketing BS

Yet again, TWO speakers. That thing will sound probably quite tinny and awful, and definitley NOT 3D. People have been setting up 7.1.4+ surround sound setups and 4K projector's for years. Take the late jeremy kipnis' home theater. Full 12.12 setup (12 surrounds, 12 subwoofers) and a 4K projector. (rated at 4000 lumens)

LTT's Resident Porsche fanboy and nutjob Audiophile.

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

Cool. Not $1100 cool, but cool.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

thats actually pretty good for a 4k projector but idk how good the color etc is

For a projector, though it’s not the inly 4K projector in the price range.

But as a component of a home entertainment system, it’s outright pathetic.
