I've been looking across all the system builders and pc-part picker just waiting to finally pull the trigger on a new computer for home. It looks like dell might be trying to liquidate some hardware, because I cannot for the life of me beat out the $1400 for the system listed today without going absolute bottom barrel "equivalent" parts.  I don't want to buy dell, but $200-300 is $200-300. Thoughts?

That's gonna set you back a bit more, if you still keep Windows in the build. In both builds I chose a 4x bigger SSD and a 2x bigger HDD.

The Ryzen 3600 build makes a bit more sense though.. Of course I put a 2070S in the builds.. The 2080 is still a bit better. That will make the Ryzen 3600 a bit more expensive (or a similar price if you ditch W10 and get a cheap key):

These prebuilt systems usually cheap out on PSU's and upgradability.

The aura was featured on an LTT video. The PSU is cheap and non-standard (though they use an adapter, why bother???)

Honestly the stupid cost cutting measures taken with the Aura desktop is too much for me. Use a motherboard without standard ATX plugs, but then use an ATX PSU with a cheap adapter anyways? How much would it have raised the cost to use a standard ATX board? Not to mention cheap GPU that is no longer sold AFAIK.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

Here's a better performance built, minus the operating system and wireless card and a better cooler than the stock :

Note: They sell the RTX 2080 plain version, the 2070 SUPER which is around $180-200 cheaper has about same performance with that, so you could go with RTX 2070 SUPER and maybe upgrade to a x570 board with built in wifi like Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) for 200$  and put the rest of the cash into a good 60$ air cooler.

I do some astro-photography editing and play things like wow classic,KSP,Divinity. But will likely be playing outer worlds very soon here.

My current rig is doing fine for the most part, but I have been wanting to join the 1440p 120-144hz master race after getting a taste of it at work.

Then an older system won't do for you well.

Time to break out the new credit card!
