What is the best way to benchmark a gpu?

i used heaven and I am constantly getting the same results as I saw on the YouTube videos but with way higher temperatures (85 at stock settings)

I managed to get 77 just by adjusting fan speeds in wattman.

shouldn't it run bit less hot than that? I have a nicely ventilated case 2x 140 pure wings 2 on front and one on top for exhaust, also one 120 pure wings 2 on back of the case. The case I am running is be quiet! Pure base 600 (not a tiny case)

cpu cooler dark rock 4 pro (not a stock cooler that would push hot air directly to the motherboard, but it pushes out from the case, towards the exhaust fan on back)

That depends on the card itself. What specific GPU is it?

@nem0123 is this a used card? Can you tell me the core clock and memory clock? Are the fans spinning ok? Is the card on stock firmware? Did you try adjusting the fan curve?

Card:

GV-RX580GAMING-8GD

1340mhz clock

2000mhz memory

when I don’t touch fan control it is really quiet and I love it but it runs around 80 avg and 85 max in heaven on loop 30 mins

max FPS 104

min FPS 22

avg FPS 51

i don’t know that much about what is firmware and how to update it etc. I just plugged graphics in and downloaded and software that takes care about updates and drivers, after some time I decided to overclock in order to get some performance boost but nothing drastically happened in benchmark, although I got some boost in games. But results in heaven are almost the same

As long as it doesn't go above 95°c, you're good.

85C is a bit high and my cards start crashing arround 87C. High temps under load are sadly expected without undervolting for this card but ive rarely seen over 80C. You'd want to set a new fan curve to keep those temps in check I like afterburner or wattman. This should imporve temps.
