New monitor

I have a msi 1080p 144hz 27 inch monitor and want to upgrade I have a ryzen 7 2700x 32 gigs of ram and a 2080 ti should I go to 1440 or 4k?

I would be inclined to say 4k. 2080ti should be able to handle it. I would recommend looking up frame rates at 4k just to make sure though.

60Hz? 4K, especially on a 32" or larger monitor (27" is the lowest I'd go with 4K, and at that size it's really hard to tell it apart from 1440p in games). Also have the advantage of being able to screen record or take screenshots in full 4K (that's why I plan to get one, moar crispier screenshots). 

Anything over 60Hz? 1440, will be masses more affordable and again at 27" or so it's indistinguishable from 4K anyways, while being much easier to push a high refresh rate in.

4k gaming can only reach 60hz so its still better to go with 1440p for best experience with your 2080ti. 4k is good for content creator.
