Should I go for higher refresh rate or pixel count?

$150-$200 budget. I've only really ever gamed on 1080p monitors with 60hz so I really don't know what direction I should go in. Never had a higher resolution or refresh rate.

I spend most of my time gaming now. Mainly FPS's (CSGO, PUBG, recently some Minecraft) but also been getting back into some classics. Some youtube most days, but I use our TV for our main media consumption. Although I may start spending significantly more time using it for work (software dev) in the near future when I get a new job.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hp-27q-27-led-qhd-monitor-pike-silver/6237643.p?skuId=6237643 this doesn't seem like a bad deal at the $200 USD for a 27" QHD 60hz

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/msi-optix-27-led-fhd-freesync-monitor-black/6348994.p?skuId=6348994 also doesn't seem like a bad deal at $180 for 27" 1080p 165Hz and 1ms response time

Currently have a 1060 3GB (regret not getting the 6GB) and an i7 7700 @ 3.6GHz.

I'm really torn on which way I should go.

Absolutely high refresh rate

You won't really notice a difference going to 1440p, aside from the performance loss

Never heard of Argon, are they reliable? Looks really good though.

And do you really think my rig can push those kinds of frames consistently in csgo without having to crank my settings to low? But then again I guess at the same price for the 1080p 165 hz that has lower res and less features, I would only be losing out on upgrade-ability when I can push those frames at high settings

Agon is the gaming brand of AOC, which is well known in Asia and Europe. As for pushing that kind of frames, probably not but it certainly doesn't hurt to have a monitor that can stick around for a while before needing an upgrade. (also from my current single day of experience with it, it has been rather nice)

Would save 50$. Get an IPS panel at 144hz. It will be a major upgrade iver anything you will have had before.

Are the any drawbacks to the monitor? I mean for $200 I can't find a single reason NOT to buy it, at that price point everything else I'm finding is EITHER QHD or 144hz. Let alone with a warranty like that. Am I missing something here??

I personally would never ever go above 24" on 1080p. Just never. I have seen an 27" 1080p irl and oh boy is it ugly because too low pixel density.
