So im trying to troubleshoot my friends PC she built a few months back...out of her several issues theres this one that I cant figger out: Although sleep and shutdown are set to never in power options, it happens at the 15 minute interval. Further investigation showed that the screen timeout was still set to 15 minutes, so Ive disabled that and am waiting for that to play out...the real issue, is that when this happens the fans ramp up super high. Higher than Ive set the maximum RPM for the case fans in bios (which is 60%, im guessing by the violence that theyre at 100%). All fans in the machine do this, including the GPU...from an idle desktop. Additionally, the machine was entirely unresponsive. It had to be turned off via the power supply. Ive looked through several threads regarding this issue on several forums dating back to 2013 and nobody knows why it happens. S'c'mon, nerds!

Corsair Crystal 570X RGB case w the 3 included 120mm fans plus an additional one at exhaust.

Asus Prime X470 mobo

Ryzen 2700X (stock)

Corsair H110i RGB Platinum, also 2 stock 120mm fans

2×8 Corsair Vengeance RGB 3200mhz

Corsair RM850X

RTX 2080 ti

Windows 10 home

Bios is up to date as of yesterday, theres no overclock on it...its using only iCUE...im guessing this is some Windows bug, which as far as i know, is also up to date. Drivers as well.
