Does anyone here applied to their credit card or visa? What if I do not have any mortgage/rent and annual net income? Do I have the option to pick the type of card after I submit the application? I have interest to get toe visa card instead

If you have no income, you are unlikely to get approved.

Best Buy pushes hard to get people to apply for their credit cards. I'm gonna get @pinksnowbirdie to help on this and see if he'd know. You probably won't be approved without any income.

I have a best buy visa card.

I just walked in and applied.  They gave it to me.

Did they not asked for your financial info?

They asked how much income I make in a year and for my social security number... you're signing up for a credit card.  As far as proof of bills or a pay stub, no

first and foremost yes the applicant must have a source of income. They don't ask for proof of income but they want your social security because they'll run your credit.
People with high debt to income ratios are declined so are people with a young credit profile or a profile that shows delinquent payments

I once years ago got a Best Buy credit card just to get a discount on a computer then immediately canceled it.  Or attempted to.  Actually getting it totally removed was a years long chore.  It was many years ago and everything has probably changed.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

If you have no income you shouldn't be looking at a credit card.

Agreed - get a pre-paid credit card instead - ideally a reloadable one you can you load some cash onto when you need to make a purchase that only accepts credit card.

Green Dot cards are the most synonymous I believe but there's a lot of pre-paid cards that you can continually reload at various stores like Walmart and Pharmacies like Walgreens/CVS/Rite Aid and online.

Walmart actually offers their own options for prepaid cards that are usually powered by green dot but walmart branded. Not sure if they sell purely green dot branded cards or if they're all co-branded.

While American Express isn't accepted at a lot of places, they have Bluebird and Serve.

Although for a credit card, even without income a secured card (one that you put forward the credit line) would not be advisable.
