Error 43, need help figuring out if the GPU is dead

Go to solution Solved by Levent,

Sounds like you did your troubleshooting well, I dont there is anything you can do at this point. Its most likely dead.

Hi, I think the video card is dead, but I would like to have it confirmed.

Yesterday, after a few days when I received blue screens while I was playing (IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL), my PC started up with a resolution of 800x600 and in the device management there was an error 43 for the GPU

The specifications of my system are
CPU: i5-4590
GPU: GTX 760
MOBO: MSI H97 PC Mate

These are the tests I tried to do

  1. Reinstall the diver, no result
  2. Format the PC, no result
  3. Try ubuntu live, the PC won't boot
  4. Test a GTX 770 (same brand of mine) of a friend of mine, everything works perfectly
  5. Test my GTX 760 on a system of a friend of mine, same error 43 and same resolution of 800x600
  6. Start the PC with the integrated graphics, the PC works perfectly
  7. Clean all the pc from the dust, no result
  8. Start the BIOS without GPU, everything is ok
  9. Start the BIOS with the GPU, pieces are blackened and is full of graphic artifacts
  10. Try the DVI, Display Port and HDMI outputs, no difference

I thought I would try to install windows 7, but I think it's useless, what do you think? Other things I can try?

Thanks to all those who will answer

It looks like it's on it's last legs,

You could try flashing the VBIOS but that is a risky move, who knows maybe the VBIOS on your card is corrupted, doesn't seem like it though.

Error 43 is almost always a RIP. I don't think I've ever cleared an Error 43 code. You can try flashing a known good VBIOS for that card and see if that takes, but your card is probably dead.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.
