Best build for £1600?

Elee

Need a build that is going to be used for 1080p gaming, streaming and editing. Budget is £1600. I just need a rough idea on where I should be looking performance wise.

Why not 1440p? You could achieve that, with your budget.

totally capable of 1440p gaming and likely even medium settings at 4k.

If you also need monitor and peripherals, spend about 1200GBP on the tower. this is what i'd suggest for it. spend about 200-250GBP on a nice monitor and 150-200 GBP on a keyboard and mouse.

Here's what I came up with, as long as you aren't needing peripherals:

If you're really sure at limiting yourself to 1080p with that budget, then get a 2060 Super instead because a 2070 Super is kinda overkill for that. I recommend a Nvidia card since they've got a good encoder for streaming.

avoid the G3, its not great, nor is it great for the price. also you dont need more than 550w

On Amazon UK ? If they did a bait and switch like Kingston did with the V300 I think it would be news.

It's just one person for now so take it with a grain of salt, but i often see the 2 drives i listed at the same price and they have the same controller as the old rocket.

This would honestly be overkill, but this is spectacular gear for gaming/streaming with either encode method.

It would certainly be more in line with 1440p or even 4K gaming than 1080p.

Here I've downed the GPU a touch and added a 27" 1440p 144hz 1ms freesync monitor within budget.

This would be optimal I think, since you'd improve your own gaming experience and are not necessarily sacrificing anything, since the 2080S is supreme overkill for 1080p anyway.

You lose the modular cables with the Formula and it costs a couple of quid more. I would rather have some sort of modularity.

The Whisper is £17 more. Sure you get a fully modular unit but you also get one of the worst (Ugliest) 24 pin cables on any unit I have seen.

You also have to take warranty support into account. With Corsair you get UK RMA. A lot of other manufacturers require the unit being shipped back overseas.

Strange that nobody else has had the same issue. One of the comments from Sabrent suggests that the drive isn't a fake either.

I just checked mine and it was reading at 3450Mb/s and writing at 2995Mb/s so it's something recent or unlucky people that got scammed :/

Fair enough. At that price, TXM is a fair proposition.

I tend to not care much about modularity when the case has a PSU shroud, but it is certainly easier.
