those fsp's? i could find so little about them, maybe a couple internal shots at best

I plan on doing a DAS guide. The JBOD chassis I bought came with a Zippy PSU. I'll crack it open (again :3) and get you pics/information.

If you add it you add it if you don't you don't. Won't offend me if it doesn't make the cut.

just noticed that the advanced list still has 3.0 linked instead of this one

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Heres the model I got, its brand new :)  roast my PSU  (and yes it was a joke about tiering it lol) but if you could roast it or tell me what these specs mean in terms of "bomb" that would be neat ;)  (if you have time of course)

Look at the EVGA G3, a PSU with a dozen year warranty that has been demoted again. I guess certain people are in on something EVGA doesn't know.

My Current Setup:

AMD Ryzen 5900X

Kingston HyperX Fury 3200mhz 2x16GB

MSI B450 Gaming Plus

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

EVGA RTX 3060 Ti XC

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB

WD 5400RPM 2TB

EVGA G3 750W

Corsair Carbide 300R

Arctic Fans 140mm x4 120mm x 1

I think you should be more descriptive instead of broad terms like this : "EVGA G", "Seasonic Focus 2017". You have G3 & G5 on tier D, indicate that (like EVGA G1+, G2, not G3, G5). And add specific Focus models under tier D listing (SR etc.). Also it would be pretty useful to have info on most popular tier D & E units as to why they're there, as it was indicated in previous post for Seasonic Focus \ Antec HCG\EW, old Seasonic M12\S12, EVGA BR\BT, better by links in the listing itself. Or at least add a note there that most of those units are either old group regulated designs without C5\C6 or have lacking\misconfigured protections \ high ripple, that will clear things out for newbies coming here.

Edit: Also, i don't have any info really but Aerocool aren't particularly known for very good units so maybe add it to Tier E too like 'Aerocool: All units except listed above', they may have some decent units (other than Project 7 which i didn't see anywhere) but it looks that we don't have much info on that.

Edit: Also, 'Corsair CX(M) 2012, 2015\2017', 'Corsair VS 2012\2017' isn't very descriptive either. I think you can differentiate them by label design ? Like vs 2012 are Black\Orange and VS 2017 are White\Black (not sure about CX), indicate that too.

evga does know about it, but haven't done much about it, except soon retiring the product as they mostly cut lines with SuperFlower

both, but this is a somewhat recent addition, so position might change because of coming reviews

Seasonic Focus 2017

this would include the focus and focus plus, also known as focus FX, for now not the GX, PX, GM and SGX for now

10 minutes ago, Juular said:

Seasonic Focus \ Antec HCG\EW

those you could see via the focus thread linked on that name, but i could add them to other focus based units as well

Seasonic M12\S12

this has to do with c6/c7 sleep states

i'll look into what else aerocool has before i do

The phrase that immediately popped into my mind is "dumpster fire".

Yup, i'm just saying that you should indicate that in the list itself, just add 'not FX' to tier A listing.

Uh, i missed the link. Maybe highlight it with a different color \ bold ? Underscore doesn't quite stand out.

I didn't see much reviews on them anywhere but Russian sites and they have very low presence in Americas\EU so i don't think it worth spending time on them anyway, broad term will work fine this time.

many don't know the focus by the FX name... and as far as i can see many see the 2017 units clearly in tier d

because the precious s12ii is in tier D because it doesn't meet requirements for tier c because of c6/c7 crossloads?

People coming in this thread for advice in PSU choice don't know how to differentiate Seasonic Focus revisions. They see Seasonic Focus FX on Amazon, think maybe it's newer one and should be even better ? No it's not, it's old one, but your listing for tier D Focus just says '2017'. Same with Corsair units, people need a way to differentiate them, you can't expect them to know which year specific unit they see on retailer page are manufactured\designed.

Edit: Also, there's FM units, where do they stand ? Both FX&FM have SSR prefix so i think they should be pretty similar ?

Edit: Yeah, it seems that it's just that FM are semi-modular and FX are fully-modular.

Don't forget about EVGA entire lineup lol, people think that just because that's well known brand you can just grab a random unit and call it a day.

Oh you think the S12II is the ONLY thing wrong with that list?  FAR from it.  Just to illustrate one small example, let's use your own stated c6/c7 standard.

There are Several PSU's in "Tier c" that do not "meet c6/c7 crossloads".  Whatever that's supposed to mean.  But they are still in "Tier C".  Either you aren't applying your standards consistently, or you don't understand the performance characteristics of the PSU's on the list.

But It shouldn't come to that at all since you can change the rules.  If a rule is resulting in erroneous rankings, the solution is to fix the problem. You don't dodge responsibility by blaming "rules".  On the plus side of things, you have a bright future as a bureaucrat.

You know, if you want to contribute - do it. Make your point, what units you could've moved to different tiers and why. Otherwise this just contributes to 'dumpster fire' without improving anything.

i mean... they have some decent ones like the G2 if you get them at lower wattages for example, but that aside

i made some minor changes real quick to the links and the corsair units, as well as add FX to the focus name
