I have a problem with choosing new psu. I'm afraid that my Thermaltake Smart SE 630W won't handle my "new" setup(7820X + RTX 2070 Super), and I need something, hm.. cheaper, that won't blow this thing up. I'm 99% sure that cpu won't be changed in next few years(they're expensive, even old ones) and I won't put 2nd gpu in it. What do you suggest? Single rail will be enough? Mobo has only one 8 pin connector, what's weird for LGA2066, but I think that this makes things easier.

I was thinking about picking up the Revolt X, which is marked as gold on the Tier A list, but I wasn't able to find any reviews on it nor any in the spreadsheet. Is the rating accurate/what is it based on?

@jonnyGURUHey, can you tell us what platform old TX-M Bronze used (non-Chicony one) ? Looks very close to (supposedly) PUQ-B in old CX-M (green label) but most sources say it's PSHIII. Do they look that close externally or we're missing smth ?

They're different platforms.

All of Corsair's PSU fans except for in the Bronze units are made by Hong Hua.

But the Corsair CX550 brings a model fan HA1225M12F-Z made Hong Hua and it is a bronze unit (technically silver as I read on your page).

Second source.  Don't buy a CX thinking you're going to get a Hong Hua fan.

Ahh, thanks. Anyway, is it a good fan? I was comparing it with the one that brings the be quiet! U9.

I can see that the Phanteks revolt x 1200w is listed as one of the highest categories on the list though from googling around, I can see that whilst it's using Seasonic components, there's no reviews. @jonnyGURU I can see you made a comment about it having a "f'd design" for dual system components. For single system , how'd you say it is? In particular for powering 3090 based builds. No corsair PSU's have been available in my region due to huge demand!

Thanks,

What needs explaining? They're all tier A, but if you mean what models they are encompassing, I can spell it out. All wattages of the original Leadex Gold model, the 1600w and lower wattage models of the Platinum, the Platinum SE model, the Titanium model, the Leadex II Gold and the Leadex III Gold manufactured before 2020 are all normal Tier A.

the post 2020 Leadex III Gold is and the Leadex III Gold ARGB (Pro is for the black model) are considered some of the best units in tier A.

I assume the HG is probably the ending of the model name for the Leadex III Gold, but if someone else can clarify, that would be great.

They have that on the box of regular Leadex III for some reason, someone might ask so we added it there.

Edit: just noticed theres a KL-1000M on overclockers for only £85.99 it's Bronze and 100 watts less compared to the later mentioned Aerocool anyone think this could power the build mentioned? both are C tier low priority on the list.

Edit2: wierd side note but, there seems to be loads of fault KL1000M's on ebay, red flag maybe lol?

so i'm guessing Low priority in C grade wouldn't be the smartest idea to buy, but I have a bit of a edgecase usage cenario...

I'm looking to build a super high spec old PC to bring back the memories of being 11/12 in 2008/2009

I'm looking at building a i7 980x/990x tri SLI GTX285 build in a Antec Lanboy Air in yellow

the i7 runs about 280 watts apparently and each 285 will run about 210 watts from what i've read

So i'm looking for atleast 910watts just for the GPU's and CPU, maybe another 100 watts for the rest of the system.

I've found this to be the cheapest option availble new to me

https://www.scan.co.uk/products/1100w-aerocool-en53761-strike-x-hybrid-modular-80plus-gold-90-eff-single-rail-139mm-quiet-fan-dc-dc

Thing is the reason i say this is an edgecase cenario is the fact I might be building this PC and using it once a year if that, maybe just benching it a couple times then it sits as a display peice so I'm not feeling spending 200+ on a PSU and £109 is rediculously cheap/too good to be true for a 1100 watt PSU, surely it'll survive a low use cenario

Anyone else got opinions on this? also what are the chances this is stock from 2012 and the PSU is already 9 years old sitting in SCAN's storage lol

Why aren't RM850x (black) on the list? And are the white ones genuinely different from the black ones?
