Currently GS =>850W / P2 / PS / T2 (<=1200W/1600W) seems a bit confusing as well on the other listings.

What's so confusing ? '/' separates different entries, wattage applies only to the respective entry. T2 is split into two wattage ranges because 1600W qualifies for gold color while lower wattages do not so not to have two T2 listing we've instead split wattages inside brackets to indicate that they're both apply to T2 lineup.

LEADEX III ARGB 850W

This is a gold category PSU which should be fine for a 3800X and a 3080?

correct, but we prefer not to do unit/case-specific recommendations here, we have a whole forum for that. This topic is mainly meant for questions around the list, problems/errors and so on

Is this PSU the same as the one above?

I ask because I wasn't able to find a M variant anywhere.

Are there any difference in performance between the Cooler Master V series and the V series v2?

How would i know if there are no reviews ?

Judging by photos on the product page, V V2 with black design looks very similiar to V Gold 2018 made by Chicony. V V2 White Edition on the other hand looks similar to MWE V2 Bronze, upped to Gold efficiency apparently. Both platforms had problems so it's impossible to say how they'll perform without reviews.

Thanks for the quick reply. Got a moment for a quick question about switching from single to multi rail? I'm way, way out of the loop on PSUs.  Sure sounds like multi-rail is safer. Would running this PSU in multi-rail mode dictate a specific connection layout? or could i connect all of the (minimal) things and switch between the two? 5900x, asus rog crosshair VIII dark hero, 3080 t.b.d(assume 3x8pin).

The good thing about HX Platinum is that running multi rail gives you per connector OCP, which means that you don't need to worry about overloading any rails, just as long as you don't split three PCIe from one connector from the PSU or something like that.

Still no public reviews on it. If you are a Patreon Gold member for TechPowerUp, you can go here and see it but until then, theres really nothing on it. Only thing that I know is the main FETs didn't survive the testing that Aris put it through, so it would be better to find a different PSU

PSU Tier List 4.0 rev. 14.6

Last Update: 29-11-2020

Gray - EoL / obsolete. Generally not recommended for purchase since it's going to be pre-owned, refurbished or old stock.
Green - small form-factor (gold and blue colors are disregarded due to scarcity of SFX PSUs)
Gold - best units in the tier (includes requirements for blue color in tier A)
Blue - quiet operation under moderate load (see details in the spreadsheet)

  Reveal hidden contents

please change color gray to another, like red or else

In my country the RMx is € 150 minimum.
I seek above all that it is silent.
 Enermax Revolution DF € 120
Corsair RM850 € 125
Bitfenix Whisper 850 115 €
Super Flower Leadex III 850 € 124
Corsair RM750 € 90 Is it enough for 5800x and RTX 3080?

Which? Any other option?

Why gigabyte P-GM models are listed on tier E? @LukeSavenije

Because switching FETs straight-up blew up in testing?

@jonnyGURUI saw a black label VS coming up recently... Anything new compared to the gray label one?

Link?

You mean black like the RM (non-X) and CV?  Probably just an artwork revision.  My team hasn't done anything to the VS in a few years.

someone sent me a link at this retailer: https://www.vedantcomputers.com/pc-components/power-supply/corsair-vs-series-vs500-500-watt-80-plus-certified-non-modular-atx-psu?sort=p.price&order=ASC

I assumed the same, but I wanted to make sure of it since iirc you did note CV was going to replace it instead of fall in between

Oh... Fucking India.

Yeah.  They sprung a whole new "BIS" requirement on us (essentially, you bribe the government to ship your products into their country.  Much like EAC for Russia.) which also required a BIS logo on the spec label.  So they just went ahead and redid the whole artwork since the BIS logo is the size of a half dollar on the god damn spec label.

The BIS certification is like Trump's tariffs.  Except India customers don't have the extra 25% to spend on tariffs (but China is paying it!  NOT!).  So what they did instead was made it very difficult to import from China by creating this fake certification.  They even managed to screw over Apple over the iPhone 12:

Corsair is "lucky" because we use Kaizen as a distributor/local support, so we had someone working things out on the inside.

Just discovered this list. Looks like I made a good choice with my Corsair HX750i. I think the only thing I would change is possibly buying a bit more wattage but when I bought it I was not expecting monster GPU's like the 3090 lol.

Really like the digital features and being able to see power in/power out and the current real time efficiency of it (as well as the various voltages)
