What specifically can higher than expected ripple at low load do to a pc?

It's higher than expected for the PSU with this topology and it's components, seems to be some issue with burst mode of PWM controller at low loads. Most tier B units would have just as much ripple across entire load range anyway and it's not that high overall so don't worry.

Thank you so much!  I won't worry then and will enjoy my gaming PC :)

This is why we don't cheap out on power supplies. Anyway, if the plastic is melted on, you are basically screwed and need both a new power supply and motherboard.

I'm afraid that motherboard is done... it looks like the plastic from the connector either covered or melted the pins

More likely that the connector just wasn't plugged in all the way

Hello, i've come with two new additions to the PSU market in Turkey

https://www.teknobiyotik.com/donanim/psu-guc-kaynagi-power-supply/high-power-element-br-750w-80-bronze-siyah-atx-guc-kaynagi-hp1-m750br-h12s.html

Its supposed to be DC-DC PSU. any idea what would be its equal?

second one is a cheaper FSP PSU,

@viceice Really hard to say what is that High Power PSU, it almost looks like it isn't made by Sirfa but so far it indeed looks like DC-DC but not LLC so if anything it would endup no higher than in tier B if we'll find more about it.

FSP PSU looks like yet another variation of Hexa 85+ platform.

any idea about the quality of these psus? can you determine the quality by these shots?

oh and of course, they're cheap, very cheap

i would like to have some insight about what tier they would fall in, are they okay for gpus such with high wattages and such

frisby 650w psu

How it's aerodynamic properties ?

Well, both are group regulated, Gamemax is most likely made by Sohoo (Gamemax's parent) and on Frisby i have no idea what it is. Capacitors don't look complete trash, there seem to be mainly Teapos on secondary which matters more than primary but since we'll merge tiers C and D into D (and rename tier B to C and B+ to B) in the next revision they would've ended up in tier D anyway with no reviews to say if they're that bad to place them in tier E. But overall the don't like a complete trash with fully populated transient filter (lack of which usually is a sure sign the design either a complete crap or just ancient) and even if i'm not mistaken NTC thermistor or MOV present.

These are both REALLY OLD power supplies.  Like, over 10 years old.  Are you sure they still sell them new?

Where is "local" for you?  Never mind.  I see you're in Turkey.

Hello. I'm looking to update my PC and starting with the PSU (500W+) since my current one is extremely old.

Initially I was looking into Corsair RMX but since I took my sweet time it went up in price quite a lot. My backup plan was Bitfenix Whisper M which was a lot cheaper than RMX (like 30$ difference) but it sold out before the quarantine and now there's no telling when or if ever it's going to be restocked.

Unfortunately, not counting more budget units like Corsair CX or entry beQuiet PSUs, my choice is quite limited.

Currently I'm looking at Deepcool DQ650-M, Corsair TX550M and SeaSonic CORE SSR-500LM.
Deepcool seems like a no-brainer and it's the one I'm most interested in but I don't know anything about the company other than it's Chinese and usually makes fans and PC cases. From what I understand it should be similar to RMX and WhisperM. Anyone have any experience using this PSU?
TXM would've been my second choice but it seems to be plagued by fan issues and I'm not super willing to play that lottery.
Seasonic Core doesn't have many reviews and I feel like a good amount of dollars in its price is just Seasonic tax to have that company logo.
Prices go something like this: Seasonic ~98$, Deepcool ~95$, TXM ~85$

All in all, I need a PSU that has good set of protections (not just on paper) and should last a long time in relatively harsh conditions; electricity "quality" isn't the highest over here, blackouts and brownouts, while rare, do happen, and grounding issues also aren't unheard of.
Would love to hear a second opinion about the Deepcool unit in particular, especially how much it's better/worse compared to RMX and WhisperM units.

DQ-M (v1) is based off the exact same platform as Whisper M, and RMx is done by the same manufacturer as the two (CWT), hence the similarities

for your prices, I'd either grab the TXM or the DQ-M, since Core shouldn't cost that much in my eyes, as it's basically a downgraded Focus.

Thanks for reply. I know about the platform but I'm not informed enough about the differences between PSUs sharing one platform or whether it's worth paying attention to it if I'm not a PSU enthusiast. It could be identical to WhisperM but under a different brand name for all I know.

Overall I'm just torn between DQM and TXM. I can get either but TXM fan issues seem like a lottery - some people say it's super silent while others complain about noise or rattling. Still I suppose having a crappy fan is better than a bad capacitor or some other manufacturing defect :)
Seasonic is simply there because there are no other decent options available for me in this price segment and since there are barely any reviews of it I thought maybe knowledgeable people can give more info about it and its shortcomings.

Although I screwed up with the Seasonic price, Core GM costs ~92$ while Focus Plus 550FX is 98$ but I am not sure if it's a "fixed" Focus or not though, the transient issue I mean. It probably is but still, any idea how to check if it's a v1 manufactured pre-January 2018? Maybe it's worth getting Focus Plus then?

Focus FX can be, but it's not guaranteed, only GM/GX/PX 2019 is.

oh, and there's an upcoming "DQ-M V2", which is based off CWT GPX rather than GPU, which is why I called it "v1"

Yup, I'm from turkey and yes, sadly, they're still being sold and some people still continue to consider them. that's why i always ask here, so that i can carry reputable and experienced people's word to them so that they will consider other more reputable brands at least

so i thank @Juular, you and all the others for never ending help, you're all doing a great service and you're of big help so thanks a lot to everyone of u

What country are you from and what's your budget? Both of them are cheap PSUs that you shouldn't use with any discrete GPU, let alone a 2060 or 5700

You reckon it's worth considering at that price if it's indeed a Focus GX?

Thanks for the links btw but I skimmed through most of them before posting, just wanted to ask people's opinion as well.

So you're from Turkey. Yes, this one is exponentially better, especially for it's price.
