Sorry to come in here uneducated, But i was planning on stacking my PC in the CPU department, but getting a mid range graphics card such as the 1660 ti. Would it be reccomended to get a midrange PSU such as the corsair CX, or would a higher range PSU be reccomened.

I would say that the RMX (2021) is even more prone than the HX to have electromagnetically induced acoustic noise due to burst mode operation in the switching controller and the valley-switching technique in the standby controller. However...

It is a rather random problem.

Shit, would not like to go through the return process again.

I know it depends, but in casino there are higher chances of success and lower chances of success 😛

What about the EVGA SuperNOVA G6 1000W?

Looks like Gigabyte or (MEIC) has fixed the OPP of the P750GM and P850GM...

Yeah, it's just that it looks like Gigabyte has been selling both old an new revision simultaneously, we need to wait for GN to compare their units that blew-up with what Aris showed, because they had some past the manufacturing date this new revision starts from.

Funny it seems other than some slight rearranging of smd components around that IC, the only change appears to be a 3.8K resistor changed to 3.2K.  Just that subtle change might turn a bomb into a decent B tier PSU.

The holes now in the PCB could keep the resistors cool enough to reduce thermal drift.

Be Quiet! Dark Power 12 1000W Modular PSU LINK .

Q1.) Can I plug this in to a B450 ASRock motherboard?

Q2.) Can I plug this in to normal sat SSD's?

Q3.) Can I plug this in to 3 separate 8 pin GPU connectors?

Q4.) What are those 3 and 5 Volt connectors that I am not gonna be able to use if I buy this PSU?

Q5.) Do you have a recommendation from be Quiet's lineup who is 1000W same price category like 220 GBP, super safe, efficient (Platinum, Titanium)?

Q6.) I am also thinking about to rather get the STRAIGHT POWER 11 1200W Platinum what does it missing VS the Be Quiet! Dark Power 12 1000W Modular PSU (that is a bit more beneficial on the log run to upgrading CPU and GPU, because these are 10 year warty PSUs but PC components seems to be costume more and more electricity)

Q7.) Why the PSU side plugs are not just standard 8 pins to deliver power to 8 pin GPU connector?

BACK STORY

  • I am looking at buying a Be Quiet! Dark Power 12 1000W Modular PSU LINK .
  • My issue is that I look at it and as it is in this LTT video , It seems like it is only having 12V connectors.
  • I ma just not sure If I can plug those in to MY mother 20+4-pin ATX seems ok,  but in the video he mentions "Physical compatibility and electrical incompatibility that some connectors originally 3 or 5V".
  • The PSU side connectors looks very strange to say the least because I need 3 x 8pin connectors to my GPU and I might as well add something extra down the line. It is crucial to get 3 lines of power cable to the GPU because my previous PSU's GPU side cables have melted in 2 of the 8 pin sockets so I just want to make sure that it can safely get that 450 W power + peaks. (That PSU was shutting out orange sparks on the back when have just plugged in without any PC connectors hooked up to the pc EVGA 1000 GQ, so it goes to the trash. I have tested my system with another PSU and it works fine and the GPU also looked that it works fine while I could not push it too much because that other PSU wasn't not that powerful)
  • It is also important that it has a very safe "fireproof" operation and in all end every case the PSU dies instead of all my other PC components (short circuit protection, over current protection) because my pc is 24/7 on it handle a lot of workloads from programing to video editing ...

PSU Tier List 4.0 rev. 14.8

Last Update: 27-07-2021

Legend :
Gray - EoL/obsolete and/or otherwise not recommended for purchase.
Green - small form-factor (gold and blue colors are disregarded due to scarcity of SFX PSUs)
Gold - best units in the tier (includes requirements for blue color in tier A)
Blue - quiet operation under moderate load (see details in the spreadsheet)

Hi there, the legend said for gray, green, gold and blue. What about the PSUs that the text colored in Black?

Black just means "normal" as in, there isn't anything that makes it stand out from the others in their tier.

Two somewhat different platforms used across wattage range, there are reviews on one and not on the other.

is this in tier B?

Do you see '-M' in there ? No, this one is would be (in the next revision, you can look up in the changelog) in low-priority subtier of tier C because that's CX-m 2021.

Should the Cooler Master V2 750w Be in Gold color on the A tier?  It's one of the best reviews I've read in a while on a 750w unit.  The thing is near flawless.  Or does the Blue color supersede the Gold color?

You need a new PSU and it has to be an EVGA P6?  LOL!

Tried to buy a G2 but nobody can deliver.

So if P6 is good for a 'high end' pc, ill buy it.
