For gaming, it's hard to recommend anything other than an i7, you can at least find a 6700 cheap enough to justify. If you really want to save, a 6600 is only around $100 usually. Still, if you're buying an i5, try your best to get a sub $100 price. If you can, pay about $150 at most for an i7

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Oh yeah, thanks.  I mistakenly just assume all motherboards can OC, since I always OC.

Ok so the i7 7700t is going to take about a month to get here now that we have the processor what's the best price to performance GPU I was looking at the RX 5700, but what do you think?

make sure you quote people so we see your responses

God no, if you’re gonna buy a Kaby lake quadcore then don’t bother with the high end unless you don’t intend to upgrade in the next 5+ years. It’s just not worth it when 6 and 8 core processors are becoming the norm and outperforming any of the quadcores.

Ideal price to performance if you absolutely have to buy Kaby lake is to get an i7 7700T engineering sample, they go for about 140-160$ on eBay and are performance equivalent to an i7 4790 but obviously on LGA 1151.

Its not worth buying a 7700K or whatever for 250-280$ used when the same price could get you a B450 board and Ryzen 5 2600 instead.

275 us dollars and yes that's eBay pricing the i7 7700t is around 150 us dollars however it's going to take about 1 to 2 months to get here.

So this is the CPU I'll be using any ideas for the GPU???

To pair with it, basically anything below a 2070. Though it depends really on your monitor.
1080p 60hz top out at a GTX 1060 6gb or 1660ti, RX 580/590 that will max pretty much any game you want in 1080p60hz.

For 1440p move up a tier, 1070/2060 or Radeon 5700, vega 56/64 if they’re cheap.

THE best price to performance gpu right now is a used RX 570. Which will handle most games at higher settings in 1080p, they’re about 120$ tops now.

So the RX 570 is about 78 us dollars the RX 580 8G is 120 us dollars in my area, and a Radeon 5700 is 290 us dollars, I would like to game on 1440p but as far as these prices which would you choose?

RX 580 if you’re on a budget, that’s a good price, it will do most games in 1440p but don’t expect max settings in all of them.

The 5700 would be a much better performer in 1440p but that is obviously a much larger step up in price.

There are a bunch of YouTube benchmarks of the RX 580 in 1440p in just about any game you can think of.

Okay thank you, I do believe though the price is a bit higher I'm going to have to go with the 5700 GPU so I get better performance on it, though I will think about the 580, I expect the 5700 would be best price to performance, cause I want to go for frame rates and everything else to be able to either use the build or flip it depending on how well it performs.
