The phone is ugly and its 9.5mm thick. 10mm = 1cm. Let that sink into your head.

If you are after battery life, opt for the Galaxy M30s instead.

Awareness is key. Never enough, even in the face of futility. Speak the truth as if you may never get to say it again. This world is full of ugly. Change it they say. The only way is to reveal the ugly. To change the truth you must first acknowledge it. Never pretend it isn't there. Never bend the knee.

Well if you are already set on getting this phone, or already have it, then there's not much to discuss I suppose.

I bought it because, before pixel 4 launch, it was the only NON-CHINESE brand phone that offer flagship grade processor and RAM, high refresh rate OLED screen, UFS 3.0, vapour chamber, in-display fingerprint scanner, notch-less design and big battery. Some bonus features I also found nice to have are dual front firing speaker, flat screen, air trigger (which can mimic pixel squeeze gesture), aesthetic (I quite like the rainbow reflective lines), side USB-C port (so that I can put it portrait on a phone stand while plugged in). Some drawbacks are no OIS, big and heavy, bad screen quality (Chinese OLED panel, not Samsung panel), though these are not deal-breakers for me. I would say it sure is great even for non-gamers.

I did consider buying it but got turned off by Asus' software policies. The original ROG Phone was released last year and still hasn't been updated to Android 9. I've had an Asus tablet in the past and it was the same story. I'm not even sure how well it would perform on a daily basis when compared to another flagship with a better optimization like the OP 7T Pro. And yes, it's a huge phone. I finally went for the OP7.
