Hi guys!

I'm in Europe and I'd like to build a PC for 1200ish Euro. I'll mostly play games with it. Some animation and photo editing might be required, but mostly games. As for games, in the near future I'm going for RD2, Borderlands 3, Planet Zoo.

I've already got a hard drive with 1 tb from my old PC and I got some Windows keys from university. I'd also like to keep my monitors(2 screens) and all the other peripherals. It's really only about the PC.
I'm not interested in RGB, I don't like glass panels and I'd love for my machine to be as quiet as possible, though it's not a deal breaker if it isn't.

With absolutely no experience in choosing parts myself, I turn to you.
Help me LTT forum, you're my only hope!

Jo, nice build! Are you sure about the radeon video card though? In my experience, they're usually a hassle. Any nvidia alternatives?

Oh, also - it says that the cpu and motherboard may not be compatible

A few changes, the X570 and nvidia. I would say you would have better performance with 5700 XT but it seems that the drivers are not 100% there yet.

How's that? What about the drivers is lacking? Is it about optimization for games?

You don't need an X570 board. Go with the MSI Tomahawk as above, but make sure it is the MAX version.

Also AMD are doing a promotion with some cpu's and gpu's where you can get a free game/s.

If you want good and quiet gpu go for Gigabyte Gaming Oc version of 2060 not PNY

Motherboard I agree with lee32uk you don't need x570 go with b450 Tomahawk or B450-a pro

Ryzen 5 3600 || Gigabyte Gaming OC RTX 2060 Super || B450A-PRO || G.SKILL Ripjaws 3200MHz CL15 2x8GB

x570 is useless. don't buy it unless you want to waste money.

thee only change from b450 to x570 is pcie4 but none of your hardware supports that feature yet.

x570 also uses more power, and most of them have a fan so they will be loud.

amd has some issues with drivers, but once they are fixed, the hardware is actually pretty good.

The B450 Tomahawk MAX should be more than enough. Just be sure is a MAX version so you don't have to flash the bios.

About your fear with AMD GPUs, I urge you to see this video.

It shows that the RX 5700XT card is between 9% and 10% better than the RTX 2060 super. And to prove you that I'm not an AMD fanboy, I own a RTX 2060. But facts are facts.

Anyhow, it's your money and your choise.

Good luck with everything, pal.

The RX 5700XT is the better option. It has higher performance than the RTX 2060 Super and slightly lower performance than the more expensive RTX 2070 Super. If you prefer Nvidia, choose the model that fits your budget.

The message is generic, posted for any combination of B450 motherboard and Matisse cpu. The motherboard I suggest has a feature that allows for a BIOS update without a working cpu. In other words, you can ignore the message.
