Man gets sent to jail for counterfeiting software from Microsoft

Haven't seen a discussion about this yet. I've just seen this on my feed today and I was curious to see what you guys thought of it.

From my perspective, it seems right that he needed to be prosecuted as it is an infringement, after all he was reselling software on which he had no rights for. And this whole story seems to be covered by the idea that Microsoft is trying to stop people from recyling toxic e-waste and a lot of the video focuses on that part which kind of hides the real reason to why he got prosecuted and tries to say that basically Microsoft doesn't want recycling and some other stuff about right to repair.

Old news. The guy was not selling the software, it as freeware to begin with. he was selling the physical media and convenience, which isnt illegal in any way shape or form.

Microsoft was just twisting and bending the legal system to their benefit to discourage others from following in this guys steps.
