MSI afterburner freezes pc

whenever i open msi afterburner it completely freezes up my pc I have to restart using the power button any idea what could be causing this, I assume it is some sort of software conflict.

Pc: windows 10, aorus z370 ultra gaming wifi, 8700k, RTX 2080, 16gb 3200Mhz RAM
