Gigabyte RX 580 Gaming 8G MI counterfeit? Gaming vs Mining GPU?

hello there!

Yesterday i bought Gigabyte Radeon™ RX 580 Gaming 8G MI Graphics card. after buying that, one of my friend confirmed it is a mining card not for gaming. So I'm bit worried about what is the big difference between a Gaming and mining card! Does it really big enough and impact my experience? Can i use it as gaming card? Any help would be appreciated. Btw, I'm confused with my gpus memory clock. it says it is 8000mhz in online but it actually shows 2000mhz in my gpu specs. Thank you!! ❤️❤️

Mining cards aren't bad as long they works and didn't change the bios...2000mhz isn't wrong for 8000mhz is effective speed..like my 1060 it says 8000mhz and there's even a 9000mhz version..basically gddr5 do it 4 times per cycle...like ddr4 runs 2 times per cycle you see 1600mhz on hwinfo64,cpu,etc. For 3200mhz ram speed...

You can use it as a gaming card no problem, AMD isn't Nvidia and didnt force partners to make their mining cards I/O-less.

and the userbenchmark couldn't specify my rx 580 model. can this gpu be counterfeit? how can i test/check the gpu more to be sure?

You should be able to flip from compute to graphics in the AMD driver.

 

With an RX 580, you should be able to as I could with mine:

yes i do have this option? what would it proof if i change it to compute?

I just wanted to see if you could change it to the Graphics workload.

 

Compute is for mining.

 

Have you done any benchmarking and game playing and saw any noticeable differences between your data and other RX 580s?

 

That really is the ultimate test at this point.
