Accidentally scraped off micro SD card label when inserting it into an SD Caddy and now there are a bunch of gold contact pads exposed. Are these to access each memory cells individually for data recovery? or what exactly is it? I attached a scanned image of the SD card below in TIF format.. DPI is 1200 and resolution is 844x712.

It's possible, but I don't see any traces to those pins from the "normal" contact pads. Is the card now too small to fit in the reader?

I'm unsure if you want to recover data, or just interested, so sorry if I've misunderstood

I was just curious. It still works great! I just wanted to see if it’ll get damaged by further use in this condition.

ah I see! I wouldn't trust it, incase some dirt (etc) accidentally shorts out the pins, etc. If you were crafty enough, you could use Sugru (or similar) to make a new face for it, but it'd have to be very perfect.
