HI there Im just wondering if a 1T SSD would be better than a 500GB SSD and a 1T Hardrive, I will be putting this on a pc im thinking of building in the near future which I will be using for gaming at 1440p and for some video editing later on. The 1T SSD will be cheaper than the other option, and the PC im building is going to be a budget PC so I wondered if by buying the 1T SSD I could also save some money apart from it being better?

Thanks for your time

500GB SSD + 2TB hard drive

What's your budget/country for the build? Do you already have the monitor?

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

How much storage do you need? If you only need 500-750GB at the moment, get the 1TB SSD. If you need more storage, get a 500GB SSD and, as said above, 2TB HDD.

My budget is of 2600NZD (New Zealand dollars) but i have some money left over because of the drop in some of the prices of some parts that have been recommended to me. I don;t have the monitor but I will most likely be buying this one: https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/product/2Gm323/msi-optix-mag271cqr-270-2560x1440-144-hz-monitor-optix-mag271cqr

Cheers.

I don't need that much since I will only be playing 2-3 games to start off with and won't be editing videos just yet but a couple of months after I get the PC.

Cheers

Looks like you can get a "korean monitor" ultra wide at the same price, uses the same panel as the others, just double check reviews.

not blower cards are much more expensive looks like, you could also find a used GTX 1070/1070ti cheap potentially, though it wouldn't have upscaling to cheat out more fps.

Thank you but I'm not really interested in an ultra wide monitor, do you think that the GPU you recommended is better as well as the MOBO and the RAM compared to these:https://nz.pcpartpicker.com/list/pndqsk#compatibility_notes

I've been told to not worry about the compatability problem PCpartpicker warns me about.

Cheers

You have USB bios flashing on the higher end MSI B450 boards, so if it doesn't boot you can fix the motherboard with a flash drive

An ultra wide monitor would be better for productivity due to the additional pixels. Otherwise I would maybe get 2 1080p displays, one 144hz and one IPS.

that case has awful airflow though, I'd get anything else that has a mesh front. It's like 15-20C hotter than the P400a with a mesh front

The reference model has the same performance it's just going to run hot/loud in general, though it can be improved.

You can flash an RX 5700 XT bios onto it and get a free 5-10% bump in performance, assuming you have a 2nd GPU to recover from, unless it is a dual bios GPU.

would also probably just stick to G.Skill or Crucial for memory, any name brand with the same mhz and timings.

That PSU should be better than the TMx line as I think that's the more budget line.

Thanks a lot! In that case, what case would you recommend?(no pun intended) the p400a? Ill think about the advice on the monitors, and no I don't have another GPU. Should I still buy the RAM you recommended even if it costs more? and is technically the same?

Cheers

If it's a lot more it's not worth it, if it's like $5-15 might be worth it, just double check the memory compatibility list

Don't really need to flash, it's just free performance, can also just overclock, the flashing is just permanent.

THE Cougar MX330,  Tesseract BF, Coolermater MB511, NR400, NR600, or Fractal Define G are all fine

anything that has a mesh front really.

Go for the 1TB SSD. If the case you choose supports multiple drives, you can just add more storage later if you find yourself running out. If your case doesnt support multiple drives then you can invest in an extrnal drive or a NAS.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

2 of those fans are blocked off so not really...

if you just want the clean and flat look the NR400 or NR600 would be the way to go
