Posted October 17, 2019 Hello, I recently noticed how bad I was lagging in a game so I went and restarted the router. After restarting and still noticing how unusually slow websites were loading, I did a speed test through the speedtest app and I was only getting around 5 mbps through ethernet. I ran the test again on wifi and it was even slower at around 1 mbps. I am paying for 250 mbps and on other speed tests a few days ago I was regularly getting around 230-250. I have tested the speeds on my phone and I am getting the same results. How am I getting these slow speeds through ethernet? Any answers are greatly appreciated. Posted October 17, 2019 Try testing the speed by, connecting to the rooter directly. You may have a bad cable. The second option is call the ISP and see, if they are having issues. You also may have a bad modem. Posted October 17, 2019 Author I don't have another cable to test with but I doubt this one is bad since I only got it a few months ago. It is a really high quality cable with good reviews on amazon. I'm probably going to call the ISP soon if this problem continues.
