So me and a friend are building a PC with some spare parts we have from previous builds, part outs, and combo-buy extras. For the love of us, we can't get it to boot to bios...after having changed every single piece in the build (to the point where we have enough spare parts to build yet another PC) minus the CPU and GPU, we can not get it to post. We are getting

What we are working with at the moment is:

Intel DH61WW Motherboard

i5-2500k CPU

numerous combos of DDR3 RAM (Corsair, Kingston, HP)

Lepa N500w PSU

GTX 770 GPU

Crucial 250gb SSD

WD 1tb HDD

We have tried swapping ram, psus, cpus, and are about to swap to another DH61WW mobo just for the hopes that the mobo is faulty (shouldn't be because we bought from a reliable source and everything we've bought previously from this source has worked/been tested). We know for a fact the gpu works. I am completely at a loss of what to do. We are basically down to the assumption that its because we've been trying to hook it up through HDMI rather than Display cable...thats how much of a loss we are at at the current moment...

It could be a BIOS issue, look up the motherboard on the manufacturer's website and see what CPUs are supported by the very first BIOS version, and try and get your hands on one of those to test with. If it boots, it's a BIOS issue, if it doesn't, then I would agree that there's a dead part somewhere.

Some older boards keep the bios on a removable chip. Look up your motherboard to see if this is true. If it is, you should make sure the chip is actually there and, and try ti get your hands on a new bios chip.

Ryzen 7 3700X

Aorus GTX 1080ti

G.Skill TridentZ 3200MHz 2x8GB

Corsair SFX 750W

Phanteks Evolve Shift Air (glass front)

2x Corsair Force GS 120GB SSD (RAID 0)

So we found out what was wrong...And i'm honestly so mad that we didn't realize it...the Bios Cfg jumper was missing...We realized this when switching over to the same replacement motherboard and then we saw the jumper on that one and were immediately thinking "swear to god if this is the problem..." and it was...live and learn i guess...
