PS4 For use with PS Now without the adapter?

So oddly enough, I connected directly through Bluetooth, but the PS Now App doesn't recognize it. Turns out, Sony doesn't even still make the adapter from what I can find. It's not even sold in stores anymore.

 

Anyways, I have Bluetooth on both my PC and laptop (the latest versions of Bluetooth on both) however I'm having some trouble here. Has anyone been able to do it without the adapter?
