Xeon E5-2640V3 and CPU connectors on my mainboard

Hey just one more question guys.My PSU has 2 8-pin connectors which I need to use for my GPU.What is left are 2x4pin connectors on rails of PSU.

On MB Asus Rampage V Extreme I see above CPU socket, 1x8-pin and 1x4 pin connector.

Do I need to plug cables to both connectors or I can use 2x4pin connectors from rails to those connectors on MB?

As I can see one is named EATX12V_1 and other EATX12V_2.

Do I need to plug cables to both connectors for this CPU?

Please do not take offence for my apparent confusion or rudeness,it's not intent me to be like that,it's just my BPD,be nice to me,and I'll return twice better,be rude and usually I get easly pissed of...I'll try to help anyone here,as long as it's something I dealt with, and even if you think I'm rude or not polite, forgive me,  it's not me it's my BPD.

Thanks for understanding.

Just plug in the 8 pin and you'll be fine. The extra 4 pin is used for high core count CPUs and extreme overclocking.

Thanks dude.t's not 8-pin it's 2 4-pin connectors (2 black,2 yellow wires on each).

Can I join them rogether as 8-pin connector?

Yes, together they make the 8 pin EPS connector. The 6+2 pin connectors for the graphics card are the PCIe connectors.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Yes, you should be able to join them together.

In fact, power supply is probably intentionally separating the 8 pin EPS connector into 2 x 4 pin, so that you'd be able to use the power supply with cheap or older motherboards that have only a 4 pin power connector for CPU.

Depending on power supply, the two 4 pin connectors may lock together, see if there's some kind of "channel" to the side of one of the 4 pin connectors. If so, the other connector may slide inside that channel and lock together forming the 8 pin connector.

Nope I can't join them together, hope I can plug them rogether, they are separated each other.

What PSU do you have?
