External Touchscreen-Display for Android-Smartphones (phone wall calendar)

Hello everybody,

I am looking for a touchscreen monitor, which remains permanently connected to an Android device and is able to control it. It should primarily serve as a kind of wall calendar. The monitor should be as flat (<= 3cm) as possible, around 15.6'' large and with no internal battery. With portable monitors, I seemed to come closest to what I was looking for, but could not find one that would support the simultaneous mirroring of the phones screen and charging.
Does anyboday have an idea? Maybe with an intermediate hub or something similar?

Android devices generally do not support external displays through microUSB/USB-C connector. There have been some devices, that had MHL or microHDMI output though. Plus the output might be bandwidth-limited when the port is USB 2.0. Even if you can connect a display, it's not going to support touch functionality. Android doesn't have capability/support for that.

Why do you specifically want to use Android device? Why not Raspberry Pi? Latest version (4 Model B) can even output 4K signal via microHDMI ports. This gives you much wider option of panels to use. Plus you get much better hardware support.

There seem to be a couple of monitors that support touch functionality on Android. Linus reviewed the Gemini Portable, which however includes a battery and is currently sold out. Or the Desklab Monitor, which ended their campaign shortly after the start due to payment issues. (and I would not want to purchase a display which I would be unable to return, if it turned out that it does not work as intended)

Flexibility and I would prefer not to purchase yet another computer. Plus I would have to wait until there is a Lineage OS release for Raspberry Pi 4.
