So I've made a build with a custom water loop in the Lian Li O11D XL with the O11Distro plate, the distro plate comes with a PWM DDC3.1 pump and it couldn't quite cycle the water to the furthest points of the loop, so I switched it out for a PWM DDC3.2 pump and that cycled the water through almost instantly.

The problem is this pump is loud as hell, I was thinking I can easily swap the 3.2 pump out and put the 3.1 pump back in without draining it because if I lay the case on its side panel, the pump is at the highest point and I can easily remove it without water escaping.

But my concern is will the pump fail to move the water effectively even though its already fully cycled.

Can anyone provide me with advice?

Are you saying you now want to remove the stronger pump for the weaker one again? Why? Noise?

Chances are with the loop now primed (full) the weaker pump will be able to move the fluid just not as fast or without as much head pressure. Sometimes weaker pumps can't prime loops very well but do fine after it's full.

Yeah just because of the noise, I can hear it through my headset which bothers me.

If the pump is PWM you should be able to control the speed in your BIOS.

Ok I’ll try that, I have it directly plugged into the CPU fan header, does that matter?

Not really. I can't say how low it will let you set it or how exactly your BIOS allows you to adjust it but only set it low enough to where the noise is tolerable.

The 3.1 will pump just fine but temps will be lower than the 3.2.  When bleeding, it may need help cycling the water through air pockets by tilting the case.

If the 3.2 has a PWM wire, you can adjust the speed in Bios or Windows with fan adjustment software (motherboard manufacturer should have software).
