I have had a AM3 system for like half a year, and I have finally decided to save up for an upgrade. Problem is I dont have that much (Around 140 Euros, ~150 USD) Also the most popular website to buy computer parts in my country has some pretty outrageous prices (GT 1030 for 100$) but I saw that Ryzen 3 1200 is for 50 euros. Found a mobo for 50, 8GB ram for 30. Now I got some more money unexpectedly and thought maybe I could get a better Ryzen cpu. Saw that the Ryzen 3 2200G is 80 euros. Question is should I upgrade to the APU and is it better than the 1200? (If you are gonna suggest some cpu's, keep in mind my country's awful computer hardware prices. I will happily provide info about the situation by giving some prices if asked.)

P.S. Plan to put the Ryzen next to a RX 570.

I would upgrade to the Ryzen 3 2200G. The only thing the APU has over the Ryzen 3 is integrated graphics, which does not matter if you are already getting a discrete GPU. Also keep in mind that if you are purchasing an older Ryzen motherboard you may have to update the BIOS.

Specs of The Battlestation:             CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700X             Motherboard: AORUS AX-370 Gaming 5             RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3000MHz

But if the only thing it has over the 1200 is integrated gfx, isnt it pointless to upgrade?

The 2nd-gen Ryzen CPU is faster than the 1st-gen. So the Ryzen 3 2200G is the best option.
