well you said the bios wasn't updated and its a last gen board

so it's probably the bios

get the loaner chip from amd or an older chip from your friend or something, just update the bios

if that doesn't work then move onto troubleshooting the motherboard

then get the loaner one from amd? thats what I suggested first. It might take a bit to ship but if its the only way then it's your only choice unless you have the money to just buy a new motherboard

Why buy a new motherboard when you can buy a cheap 1st Gen Ryzen CPU for $58.87: AMD Ryzen 3 1200

I didn't even say he had to get a new motherboard im just saying if it comes to that (like if his board is broken like he said) he should.

You misunderstood my reply,if OP can't get the loaner and has to spend money to solve the issue, buying a cheap 1st Ryzen CPU is cheaper than a new motherboard.

You can go to the shop you bought it from and ask them to update the BIOS for you.

ohhh alright sorry, and thanks for clarifying.

Hopefully OP has a shop that can do that. Even here where I live in the usa, I don't really have a place that can do that.

Well the advantages are certain :) if you are willing to pay the extra bucks, I guess you can't go wrong. I am amazed by my 3700x!
