Hi there, I'm upgrading my whole system from an i5 6500 + GTX 1060 to a 3600 CPU and a yet to decide GPU as you read in the title.

I'm torn between the Sapphire RX 5700XT NITRO+ for 477€ and the MSI RTX 2080 DUKE for 560€.

The 2080 is used, but it was only for 6 months, and still has a year and a half of guarantee at my local hardware shop.

Do you guys think I should spend the little extra and go for the 2080 or just go for the 5700XT?

That extra money was going to be used to buy a game, but I don't mind waiting a month or so to buy it.

Thank for you guys's help :D

On average, the 2080 will be a little faster than the 5700 XT, not a lot though (it really depends on the game and the resolution), but every little bit counts I guess. Also, if you care about Nvidia Shadowplay and real-time ray tracing, I think it'd be worth to go with the 2080.

That's the perfect situation to go for a better GPU then. RTX 2080 vote from me as well. (5700 XT user, and fan)

Are you having any problems with you 5700XT ?

The RTX 2080 is just plain better performance if you do even a little overclocking. Doesn't mean the 5700 XT is bad or having issues, it's just different performance.

I would take the 2080.

Speaking from a 5700XT user.

Unfortunatly the guy had already sold it when I contacted him to make the deal, but I'll try and I'll be on the watch for nice deals on a 2080.

If I can't, I'll just end up buying the RX5700XT NITRO+.

Thanks for your help!

The 5700 XT is a really great card too, don't feel too bad for missing out on an average of less than 5% performance increase.

Yeah, in some games the same 2080 really takes the cake, but the RX 5700xt really catches up in some titles like FH4, and in addition to that, it's fairly new so its performance can and will improve. Just like the rx580, Which is now almost competing with the 1070.
