Hello everyone this is my first post and i need help. I am trying to hook up my streaming PC/Gaming PC/ Xbox all to one mixer. I have the behringer 1204 usb everything is hooked up i can hear the game sounds from my headset thats plugged into my mixer. The problem I am having is my XLR mic cant be heard when in a xbox party or game chat. It's nothing but static i tried sending a voice message to a friend of mine via xbox one and when i hear the playback i dont hear anything but static. Can anyone help me as i am completely lost I havent even tried to see if i can hear game sounds from my gaming pc or notifications from my stream pc. Im just trying to get this issue resolved first. Thank you ahead of time for your response.

Have you turned on phantom power?

I did no different it’s weird I literally have no clue what’s wrong I followed this guy on YouTube video to the tee and for some odd reason I’m having this mic problem.

Does anyone have any idea why my mic is nothing but static?

Make sure your board is in it's own power outlet, not in a powerstrip.

Try turning on the "Low Cut" filter (button just above headamp).

The AT2020 does need phantom power, so keep that on.

This board has built in FX, make sure those are off.

See what happens if you turn on "2-TR/USB To Main" (the one below "phones" level). Down should be on for those kinds of buttons.

If you're using the "Phones" out on the board to monitor your mix, turn on "2TR/USB" and "Main Mix".

How are all your devices connected to your board?

So far after doing what you told me i can hear myself very low when sending a message via xbox live but there also alot of static. Im going to attach a photo of the way my mixer is setup.

Looks like you have the compressor turned up for your mic channel. Turn that down to near zero and middle out your eq to test.

In the photo you have your main mix faders at negative infinity. When using your mic, have them turned up to 0.

From here, can you label everything? I'm not quite sure what's where.

yes i apoligize

channel 1- XLR mic

channel 2- is empty

channel 3- is connected to a gound loop and into green line in to my gaming PC

channel 4- same thing its a left and right cable connected to my gaming PC

channel 5/6- is connected to a ground loop and into my streaming PC green line in.

channel 7/8- is connected to my rolls mini mix stereo line mixer which on that i have 2 inputs connected one goes to my headset buddy that connects to my xbox controller the other goes to a turtle beach DSS sound processor which is connected to the digital optical cable from my xbox one.

I will link the video from the youtuber i followed his directions exactly only difference is he has another mixer not the behringer i have. Sorry if this is asking for alot of help i just have no clue what im doing. Thanks

Assuming everything is plugged in just like the video, it looks like you need the FX send (i was wrong, I thought this board had audio effects, it doesn't so ignore my previous comment about that). But it looks like you need the FX send on only channel one, where your mic is plugged into, to be turned up. Start with it in the middle perhaps and test from there.

Sorry for the late reply. I’ve got it to work my buddy can hear me over on Xbox although he still hears a low static any clue on how to fix that. I’m going to attach photos I took of the way I have the mixer setup and working. Also I turned on my stream and recorded a bit to hear how it sounds my voice is very low I’m assuming that’s something to do with the streamlabs configuration I have to look into?

Level your faders to zero and use your headamp/gain to get higher volumes. Other than the noise with the mic, does everything else work as it should? I don't know anything about Streamlabs, so you may want to create another topic for that once we figure this out.

The noise could either be a ground loop issue, or it could be the sound card on your computer it's plugged into. Especially if it's onboard audio, there's a good chance it's not isolated well enough and your noise comes from whatever sits near, or next to, the onboard audio circuits. You can try a USB sound card like in the demo video to make sure of this.

everything works fine except the static i bought the usb sound card and it hasnt made a difference. You said teheadamp/gain is that the black little knob on top of the compression?

Yes the knob just above the compressor.

The only things I can think of is either the phantom power on your board is faulty, the power supply for your computer is not a good one, your GPU has an overbearing coil whine (i've run into that one personally), or your mic is bad.

How bad is the hiss? Is it a very faint one, can it be changed in volume? Maybe try bringing down the high's on that channel and see if it gets cut out some.

i just tried recording a message to my friend via xbox live and it sounds fine now im waiting for him to log on and join a party chat so i can see if the static is gone. I picked up the red aux on channel 1 all the way up and i dont hear no more static on the voice message so lets see if that fixed the problem.
