Hello,

I recently buit a PC and the only real issue I’ve had was with getting the fans to spin appropriately. On idle they spin slightly too fast for the noise to be a non-issue but my only problem is that I’m unsure how to go about fixing it. I installed the AI suite software but didn’t really understand it either. It also changed the fan speeds that I already had so that now they spin a lot faster than before at idle. I tried using the BIOS Q fan tuning but even that didn’t make them as quiet as before.

What’s the best way to fix the issue and how?

MB: Asus ROG Strux X570-F Gaming

Fans: 3x Corsair LL120

          3x Noctua iPPC 2000 PWM 120mm

Have you tried setting custom fan curves?

I wanna try that. Do you have any advice for how I should set them up or is it best to just play around with it until I get it right?

It'll probably take some tinkering. If you want it to be quiet, I recommend setting them to all minimum rpm and raising the fan speed of one of them at a time to figure out what's quiet enough for idle. You can use that as the start of the curve.

For the end of the curve, raise the fan speed until it's almost a bit too noisy, and see what your load temps are with the fans at that speed. Depending on your load temps, you can raise or lower the fan speed for lower temps or lower noise. For the points in between, that'll definitely take some tinkering. Try to avoid sharp spikes in the curve.
