I have a 2017 HP Omen 15t. https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/omen-by-hp-15-ax200-laptop-pc-series/13810162/model/17320032/manuals

HP-Compaq OMEN 15-AX250WM

I think the screen was bent somehow. Whenever the screen is bumped it freaks out.

I found a replacement on this site and I think that it would work and I could do it. https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/model/HP-Compaq/OMEN~15-AX250WM/

I also found it on HP Parts Store buts its over $200

But, I want to upgrade the display if that is possible and I don't know what my options are. I doubt than every 15.6",  30 pin panel could work, but I don't know what other specs to check

your issue might be flex cable. Can you take picture of the screen during it craps out?

Becuase of camera syncing things It is quit representative

Considering artifacts happen on vertical axis, I would get a new flex cable just to be safe. I am just not sure if this is just a panel issue, I am curios on what others think.

If the issue is the cable I think I can get some off Ali-express for like a buck.

It's worth it if that's the issue

Each time I leave the display sitting steady the flickering and color issues slowly disappear, however my display still has some pressure marks and markes from the keyboard rubbing off the anti-glare, that could warrant an eventual display upgrade as the actual hardware in the laptop is still more than good enough.

Any news on how it went man i have same issue but it turns off and on so i been using external display. Seems common for this laptop. Got the 120hertz upgrade coming. Also sometimes internal display works if i move it its black, i might have a cable issue too.

My replacement screen is coming in 3 days ill let you know if no one else replies

Thanks. I have a feeling it is the screen's internal strip. THE black tape strip which says do not touch. So I may have to change the screen as well. Hope all goes well and I will wait for your result. Thanks

It was 60 plus shipping total to 80 bucks. with IPS 120 hertz upgrade and everything  else like lifetime warranty  I got glossy to try it out should be coming in a couple days. They also sent me an email to get a reduced 20 dollars if i make a video on how to replace it.

Heres the manual http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05357609

On youtube you can find videos where they just take off the screen panel and some where they disconnect the battery.

And your right it could be that as well its coming by either today or Thursday.

you can also find the same monitor on amazon for 71 dollars total with 120 hertz but its a tn monitor and its matte and no wide viewing angle also 2 year warranty https://www.amazon.com/SCREENARAMA-Replacement-15-AX250WM-1920x1080-Upgrade/dp/B07XGC85Z5/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=AX250WM+screen&qid=1582106157&sr=8-1 you also get the tools but its not grade A like laptopscreens dot com.

Also i recommend you connect an external display with hdmi its what i have been using with the laptop.

By pressing f5 two times then enter you can project to the other screen. Also sometimes both work when i duplicate them.

I have been using mine with the issue. I was able to make it work intermittently by applying pressure and taping things. My display has the issue in the exact same spot, the way yours does. Its gotten worse as time goes on. I am interested to see how this goes.
