Planning a new build, looking for advices : )

Hi Guys, new user here!

Looking to get a new build after my 7 year old PC is getting close to retirement.

Would like to use it for gaming on 1440p (possibly 4k?) and doing some work with software like Unreal engine & 3D modeling.

 

This is what I came up with:

CPU: Intel Core i9 9900KF

Cooler: Cooler Master ML360R RGB

GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER GAMING X TRIO 8GB

MB: MSI MPG Z390 GAMING PRO CARBON

MEM: CORSAIR Dominator Platinum (2x16GB)

Storage: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB

PSU: Seasonic Focus GX-750

Case: Cooler Master MasterCase H500M

 

Would like to know if anyone has any recommendations, maybe I picked some parts that couldve been better for around the same amount of cash, or just any general advice is welcome : )

This build would be around 2300€, so any advices that stay somewhat in that range are greatly appreciate : )

I'd definitely say you should go for the 9900K with the integrated gpu as QuickSync or other iGpu-supported programms could benefit from it.

It is overall a good choice of components. But you may want to consider ryzen thoug, like a 3950x for example, just because this means you'll most likely be able to upgrade to 4th gen ryzen while on Intel from my understanding 10th gen will need different motherboards. Also consider features that amd may offer like PCIe 4.0 for blazing fast ssds.

Thanks for the advices guys! I did consider ryzen, but they were a fair bit more expensive and wouldnt it be a bit overkill? : ) The upgrade aspect seems better for ryzen then Intel indeed

You have to be more specific in your requirements. 1440p at what framerate? Is gaming or productivity the priority?

Gaming would be the priority, would like to average at atleast 60 fps, preferably higher
