I've been building PC's for myself and other people since I was 14 but in recent years kept to my "gaming" laptop. With new titles releasing (including RDR2 next month) I've been looking to build a 4k ready desktop without going completely broke, if that is possible.

AMD build:

CPU: Ryzen 7 3700k $330

Mobo: MSi MPG X570 Gaming Pro Carbon $260

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z 16GB DDR4 4400 $260

GPU: ASUS ROG Strix RX5700 XT $460

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 T2 $245

SSD: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB $450

Total: $2,005

I have not chosen a CPU cooler (if needed), a case, or a monitor. For a monitor I'd prefer 26"+, freesync etc.

Thoughts?

Hard to comment on a build without more information, especially some idea of the budget.

I doubt an RX5700 XT is sufficient good 4K gamming.

850W is far more capacity than needed. pcpartpicker.com will provide a total power requirement based on manufacturer specs.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
