Ryzen 7 2700x vs Ryzen 5 3600

If gaming is the emphasis then the 3600 does it, if streaming and editing are a higher priority then the 2700 is the call.

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad

3600 for gaming, everything else should benefit with the extra cores.

At 1440p the 3600 performs nearly identical to the 2700X in games, even beating it out slightly in a few cases: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/amd-ryzen-5-3600/16.html
