Budget Gaming Monitor 1080 discussion

So I finally spent the money and bought a upper mid level gaming laptop (hopefully)... And pretty much tapped myself out on funds so I'm trying to be budget conscious in my next upgrade and that is my secondary monitor. Currently I use a old HP w2007 and it squeals and flickers. I'm wanting the monitor to at least keep the same resolution as my laptop monitor so when I'm moving my windows from one screen to the next, it's not scaling the windows to make them seem smaller or bigger etc... currently with the w2007, the screen is only 1050x1680 and my new laptop is a 1080x1920 which makes for an annoying eye strain... Luckily the conditions are indoors and no sun brightness to contend with. So I'm guessing the Nit levels doesn't have to be perfect/high? but wasn't sure what the best solutions were.

Bottom line; my minimum needs are:

  • FreeSync
  • 1080 (21:9?)
  • VESA mount
  • 27" wide...
  • Curved
  • $200 USD or less
  • Ideal: 32"+ 144hz low ms lag

Laptop specs: Predator Helios 500 (PH517-61-R0GX)

  • 1920x1080 HD 144hz 17.3" and has both HDMI (2.0) and Display port (? version) FreeSync. (300 nit brightness)
  • Ryzen 7 2700 (not the newest but I believe up-gradable if desired)
  • Radeon RX VEGA 56

Game style:

  • Halo and new Doom Fallout 4 etc
  • Strategy games like Warcraft 1/2/3 Starcraft 1 and soon to be 2 (haven't found anything to replace them other than war for the underworld)
  • Witcher 3 (scenery is cool)
  • sorry I'm only just getting back into gaming. My computers have always been 10+ yrs behind current gens lol.

I've been shopping around for this type of monitor for the past month. No luck yet. The 1 monitor Linus just reviewed AOC C27G1 27" actually seems to fit my needs... but the price is above and seems to have some issues according to Linus... and I didn't know if there were any solid ideas out there.

Also note... still not sure if a TV screen 32" 4k is worth it yet either. was hoping for lower input lag and hopefully 144hz to match my laptop monitor. But again not sure.
PS: maybe I should wait for black friday sales? but wasn't sure if they'd do what TV companies do and they'd only put on sale heavily modified crappier spec'd tv for sale etc...

Any insight on anything here would be most welcoming guys. ?

So I'm aiming too high? Should I rise my price then?

I guess amazon noticed my traffic pattern and advertised this to me: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075KFPJ5C?ref=dacx_dp_8448758660401_1004757310701&me=ATVPDKIKX0DER&aaxitk=HuvzxAf45wQo4TzBItNuNA

This looks nice... but does G-sync allow free-sync? The questions below seem to note it as free-sync and confusing me...
