Deepcool Lucifer V2 - any good?

I've only ever used one on Intel quad cores and it is fine there. It is a fairly large heatsink but the fin density is relatively low. If it is worth it depends on your uses and what else you can get for similar money.

Yeah, it's bulky, often cheap, and performs pretty well.

Why are you interested in this cooler in particular?

Moved to Air Cooling.

Because I recon the biggest factor for heavy lifting is the number of heat pipes

The mounting hardware is as important if not more. Here's an example where Overclockers.com shows a 12c drop between mounting with low and high pressure using the Fuma: https://www.overclockers.com/scythe-fuma-heatsink-review/

I agree the Fuma looks better engineered, for sure. But the lucifer is about £20 and the Funa about £40.

this is for a third party, on a shoe string budget.

personally I use the noctua d14.

interesting read though, fan cubic feet per minute vs static pressure.

The point isn't that the Fuma is better. The point is that mounting hardware is as important if not more than the number of heatpipes.
