Just a cool idea... considering it myself here... I have a 1080 17.3" laptop and wanting to get some ideas on single additional display setups where the monitor is above the laptop with screen open... for instance, imagine your laptop is open with the screen up. And a 36" ultra wide above it. Would it be feasible/worth while?

Anyone have any cool photos for ideas? I did a google search didn't find anything good where you're using a laptop monitor as part of your gaming setup.

Only example I found and it doesn't fit what I was going for. My monitor would be mounted on wall and laptop directly below it.

The problem is finding a good balance of height of ultra wide and angle of laptop screen. This will also depend on how far away you like to be from the screen. I have tried this before and I found the laptop pushes me further away from my main screen then I would have liked. As you can tell from the photo the user of the computer is super far away from the screens.

You also don't want to mount your main monitor so high up that your looking at an odd angle all of the time.

Like in this setup in the photo I would just put the laptop off to the side and use a normal mouse and keyboard. It can still be a secondary monitor but just to the left or right of me not in front.

^And that's why I'm trying to figure this out...b/c it's an extra monitor...it's a shame to not use it... especially if the laptop monitor is pretty large and has good specs like 144hz. Plus it has a backlit keyboard with a good layout and hot keys. So I feel like it should be centered in some way...just not sure how to use envision it.

I used to run a staggered setup at work. laptop center bottom, wider screen above aligned to the right side of laptop screen and screen center vertically at right... It was kinda okay. ?
