Ryzen CPU/MSI X370/RAM stuck at 2133mhz and FPS issue

Go to solution Solved by XAIXER,

Filling all the RAM slots will be harder for XMP and will cause slower speeds.

I have been having problems with my fps in games even though I have a pretty beefy computer.  Specifically Ghost Recon Breakpoint (running at 20 fps even with settings tweaked Low/Med) and PUBG (dropping to 20-30 fps on hot drops and randomly ingame even though it runs at 95-115 in countdown).  I have everything up to date from all drivers and BIOS. Since Ghost Recon is CPU/RAM intensive, I even upgraded my RAM to 32GB (see specs below), however when I did that, I noticed my 3000mhz RAM is only running at 2133mhz.  I've spent the last two days trying to troubleshoot both the RAM and FPS issues to no avail.  Only thing I can think is the RAM just isn't compatible, but everything I'm searching says it should work. (I've done all the manual OC in bios/Memory Try It!/A-XMP profiles/Ohm/Voltage tweaking and can't even get 2400mhz/2667mhz) Please help!

My specs are:

  • Windows 10 Home 64 bit
  • MSI x370 Gaming Plus(MS-7A33) [BIOS v5.H0 - AMD AGESA PinnaclePI-AM4 1.0.0.6]
  • AMD Ryzen 7 1700X (overclocked to 3.9GHz but issue still present on stock speeds)
  • 4x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000mhz RAM (stuck on 2133MHz no matter what)
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GDDR5X
  • KINGSTON SATA-2 SSD (128GB) boot drive
  • WD 1TB SSD/Crucial 500GB SSD/2TB Toshiba HDD/ 4TB Seagate HDD Storage
  • Thermaltake Toughpower 850W (850W 80+ gold)
  • 2x LG 29UM69G-B 29" IPS WFHD Ultrawide 75hz Monitors

Eh I guess that makes sense...I guess I'm just going to have bite the bullet and spend the $150 for 2x16GB sticks...might as well go for 3200mhz since I've seen those seem to work better (or with less issues at least) with the AMD/MSI combo.
