Hi Everyone.

I was wondering if i could get a little more info.

I currently have a Ryzen 5 2600 with a Antec  Mercury 240 AIO.

I just bought the limited Noctua NH-D15 Chromax LTT on Amazon as iv always loved noctua but never the colour, so when i saw the all black i jumped at it.

My question is, does anyone know how they perform on a Ryzen CPU compared to a 240mm AIO.

i have found a few videos related to intel but no AMD so im just curious.

It’ll be included in the box how to mount it (instructions). It’s fairly straight forward to be honest.

AFAIK they perform on par or even slightly better.

Intel content should be informing as well even if you are using amd, as it's just a comparison of two coolers cooling a heatsource, and it really doesnt matter much what heatsource that is.

D15 is probably better than whatever 240 you got

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

#3. There is nothing "wrong" with being wrong. Learning from a mistake can be more valuable than not making one in the first place.

it should handily beat the 240mm AIO's ,, so long as u have good case aiflow.

The only AIO's that can pull ahead of top end Aircooler Kings like the D15, are 360mm AIO's.

They're similar in performance circumstances can heavily favor one over the other depending on fan speeds, where the rad is mounted, and system airflow.

*** EDIT ***

Just finished my install. I was only able to use the center fan directly. I installed the second one in the ceiling blowing on the other half of the tower and the RAM. These numbers are with a 4.4 GHz overclock at 1.36 volts.

Pre-install Idle Temp: 36.0 C

Post-install Idle Temp: 30.0 C, decrease of 6 C.

Pre-install Max Temp: 95.6 C (during Cinebench R20 Max Load)

Post-Install Max Temp: 70.0 C

Just bought myself 25.6 C of thermal headroom, with only one fan directly on the heatsink. Just need a bit of cable management, and It's done.

*** END EDIT ***

I hated the design of the stock Noctua fans... could have dealt with a raw metal cooler, but not the fans. I just got my NH-D15 chromax.black LTT Edition today. Couldn't pass it up for the price and new design aesthetic. I am putting it on my Ryzen 7 3800X system. With the stock wraith prism cooler, I hit 92 C in Cinebench R20 (all core overclock at 4.4 GHz, and 1.36 V). I will post again here when I've installed it and let you know how the temps do as well as whether I can get any more OC out of it.
